September 9, 2025 Samantha "Sami" Mason was inspired to get involved with Student Foundation after witnessing the success of the last Great Give. As a member of the Marching Chiefs, she found it especially meaningful to see so many student leaders giving back to their school in such impactful ways. Samantha is most active in her work with People Power for Florida, where she serves as the Lead North organizer. Her work focuses on civic engagement education and grassroots organizing. She registers students to vote, tables at community events, and helps educate Floridians about political issues. In addition, she serves as the internal president of Students Demand Action and is a member of the Marching Chiefs Color Guard. One project she is particularly proud of is the NextUp Program through PPFF. This program is a paid cohort that Samantha is co-leading with a colleague at FSU. Together, they developed a curriculum designed to teach students professional organizing and advocacy skills. Participants then apply these skills by planning their own organizing event centered around an issue of their choosing. Samantha is excited to see this project flourish over the course of the semester. Passionate about helping her community in every way possible, Samantha values Student Foundation for opening doors to new areas of campus she may not have otherwise explored. She applies what she learns in SF to develop creative ways of registering voters and engaging students. Outside of academics and leadership, she enjoys reading, going to the movies with friends, and taking spin classes at Leach! A favorite quote she lives by comes from John Wesley, which serves as a reminder to always act with mindfulness and strive to leave a positive impact on every space. “Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can.” – John Wesley Hometown: Cocoa Beach, Florida Major(s): Political Science & International Affairs
