Events

Each spring, the Student Foundation hosts the "Philanthropy 101" panel, featuring student leaders from various campus organizations. The event provides attendees with the opportunity to learn about diverse philanthropic initiatives at Florida State, followed by a dinner reception for further engagement.

The Student Foundation’s annual Philanthropy Gala, held at the end of each calendar year, celebrates Philanthropy Week and highlights the organization’s accomplishments. This prestigious event honors the 21 Under 21 recipients, recognizing the achievements of young leaders, and showcases the impact of our grant winners. It’s an evening dedicated to celebrating the power of philanthropy and the outstanding contributions of individuals and organizations within the Florida State community.

The Strozier Lock-In is an exciting part of the Student Foundation's fall fundraising campaign, Students Helping Students. Here, students come together for a night of fun, entertainment, and giving. The funds raised during this event directly support FSU Libraries.

The Founder’s Day Celebration is held each spring to honor the founding of the Student Foundation. This annual event brings the FSU community together to reflect on the organization’s history, celebrate its achievements, and recognize the contributions of those who have supported the Foundation’s mission.

The Student Foundation’s Annual Great Give event is a full day of fundraising, performances, food, music, and fun, all in support of a worthy cause. With vendors, exciting entertainment, and plenty of activities, this event brings the Seminole community together to raise money for that year’s designated beneficiary. All proceeds directly benefit the chosen cause, making it a day of giving back and celebrating the FSU spirit.

As we welcome a new Board of Trustees and Directors each year, the Student Foundation comes together for our Board Retreat - a full day of exciting programming and bonding activities. This fun filled day at the start of each year brings our boards together to prepare for the busy year ahead.

Our Dollar Week campaign happens in each fall and spring semester as a unique way to raise funds and promote student donations throughout the year. During these weeks, our board members fundraise by asking students from across campus to donate just a dollar to our cause - it all adds up!

During the summer semester, the Student Foundation continues to work hard and promote student giving during summer student promotional events, tabling, and new student programming.

Philanthropy Week falls in the fall semester of each year with a whole week of philanthropic events and activities, including our Strozier lock-in, chalking on campus, and closing out with our Philanthropy Banquet. Significant fundraising to support our Students Helping Students campaign happens during this week as well with this being our biggest period of giving in the fall semester.

The Student Foundation’s “Students Helping Students” campaign is designed to ignite a spirit of giving amongst students to inspire philanthropic action and better Florida State University. Since all of our fundraising goes straight back to the University, this campaign is an important time to remind students to keep supporting each other with every dollar raised.
